Mrs. Aletha Campbell Burr, age 96, entered into the rest on Thursday, July 19, 2018. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church by Rev. Ronnie Caulder and Rev. Charlie Short with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Burr was born May 11, 1922 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Daniel Franklin and Bessie Florence Previtte Campbell. A faithful member of Sandy Plains United Methodist Church, Aletha was an accomplished seamstress and wonderful cook. Her hobbies included painting pictures, reading, and crafting.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, Aletha was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Thomas Preston Burr; siblings, Evelyn Campbell Short, Atha Campbell Davis Peele, Norman Campbell, Allie Campbell Eddins, Vernon Campbell, and Vera Campbell.

Survivors include her children, Betty (Richard) Board of Patrick, SC, and Deborah (James) Phillips of Morven, NC; grandchildren, Catherine (Kenny) Coleman of Patrick, SC, Stephen (Jayne) Board of Charleston, SC, Michael (Missy) Phillips, and Ryan (Ginger) Phillips both of Morven, NC; great grandchildren, Blakeney Coleman, Drake Phillips, Kamryn Phillips, and Emma Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, “Miss Kitty.”
