VISITATION: is 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mrs. Blackwell was born May 1, 1927 in Hartsville, SC a daughter of the late Gilliam and Lydia Dixon Gainey. She was a retired employee of Cheraw Yarn Mill. Mrs. Blackwell was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed reading her Bible, making quilts, working in the yard, and talking with her friends on the phone. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by three brothers; Neal, Otis, and Dewey Gainey, and by three sisters; Lucille Rogers, Lucy Spell, and Margaret Foote.

Husband of 64 years: David Blackwell of the home
3 Sons: Billy Leon Blackwell and Donald "Duck" Blackwell both of Chesterfield, SC and David K. Blackwell of Monroe, NC
1 Sister: Alma King of McBee, SC
Special Friend: Betty Joe Starnes
Also 7 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren
