History: Mrs. Berry was born January 9, 1931 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late James Preston and Sarah Adams Turnage. She was a retired hairdresser, and a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church of Newton, AL. Mrs. Berry was a member of the Eastern Star, where she was a Past Worthy Grand Matron, active in the Rainbow Girls, and The Daughters of The Nile Foundation. In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald C. "Don" Berry; 1 sister, Evelyn Turnage; and 1 nephew, Dennis Thurman.

2 Sisters: Dorothy Walker of High Point, NC and Eunice Thurman of Cheraw, SC
2 Nieces: Delia Walker of Lexington, NC and Emily (Jeff) Rose of High Rock, NC
1 Nephew: Michael Thurman of Cheraw, SC
Great Nieces and Nephews: Justin and Jordan Rose, and Rylie and Cooper Thurman
