FUNERAL SERVICE: 4:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Cross Roads Baptist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the church cemetery

VISITATION: is 3:00 - 4:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2013 prior to the service in the Church Family Life Center

HISTORY: Mr. Sowell was born October 31, 1919 in Jefferson, SC a son of the late William Douglas and Elizabeth Clark Sowell. He was a retired employee of Caro Knit and also enjoyed farming and carpentry. Mr. Sowell was a faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Choir member, R.A. Leader, R.A. baseball coach, and helped in the building of the Family Life Center.He was also a member of the WOW Lodge 516, Ruby, SC. Archie was an avid fisherman and hunter. In addition to his parents, Archie was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Hancock Sowell; a granddaughter, Allison Sowell; and by five sisters and two brothers.

1 Son: Randy W. (Janice) Sowell of Chesterfield, SC
1 Daughter: Mettie S. (Jim) Spittle of Matthews, NC
4 Grandchildren: Meredith S. (Lee) Wallace, Chrystal Sowell, Matthew (Ashley) Spittle, and Angela (Jason) Gibbons.
6 Great Grandchildren: Dawson and Rylan Wallace, Parker and Mason Spittle, and Ryan and Hannah Gibbons
