INTERMENT: will follow in the Ruby Cemetery, Ruby, SC
VISITATION: will be 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 24, 2014, prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
HISTORY: Mrs. Griggs was born September 16, 1936, in Wadesboro, NC, a daughter of the late David Earl Chewning, Sr. and Lula Hunt Chewning. She was a 1954 graduate of Chesterfield High School, where she played basketball. Barbara was a former bank teller and a retired inventory accountant with Union Camp Co.
She enjoyed reading and singing. In addition to her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. "Mike" Griggs, her daughters Susan Elizabeth Griggs and Harriet Griggs Huntley, and by her brother, David Earl Chewning, Jr.

Son: James Michael "Jimmy" Griggs and his wife Jurai Griggs of Thailand
3 Grandchildren: William Austin (Erin) Huntley, Jennifer Griggs and Jessica Griggs.
Great Grandchild: Aubree Huntley
