Mrs. Barbara Helms Loyd, age 68, entered into rest on Monday, March 20, 2017. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Forest Pine Church by Pastor Danny Malloy, Rev. Buddy Amerson, and Rev. David Wilks with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Loyd was born August 14, 1948 in Monroe, NC a daughter of the late Thomas Helms and Lucille Brock Herlocker. She was a homemaker and attended Forest Pine Church. Mrs. Loyd enjoyed fishing, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Tommy Helms; and 1 sister, Irene Nichols.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James Robert Loyd of the home; 2 sons, Teddy Lee Loyd of Patrick, SC, and Timmy Wayne (Melba) Loyd of Bishopville, SC; 2 daughters, Diane (Ray) Owensby of Chesterfield, SC, and Louise (Matt) Buchanan of Landis, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Loyd, Jeffrey Driggers, Richard (Katherine Rivers) Owensby, Brittany Owensby, Jennifer (Michael) Brown-Weber, Kelly (Forest) King, and Jonathan (Danielle) Morton; great grandchildren, Hannah and Jaycie Driggers of the home, Quinn, Sawyer, Lindsey, Vada, and Stella; 3 brothers, Frankie (Pam) Pittman of Salisbury, NC; Joe (Marlene) Helms of Albemarle, NC, and Larry (Carolyn) Pittman of Ellerbe, NC; 1 sister, Denise (Jackie) Raines of Ellerbe, NC; also numerous nieces and nephews.
