Barbara H. Watson

Chesterfield, SC

          Mrs. Barbara H. Watson, age 82, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor Randy Bishop and Brent Taylor with entombment to follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 PM Sunday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home prior to the procession to graveside.

          Mrs. Watson was born September 10, 1939 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Fred William “Dock” and Aletha White Hinson. She was a retired attendance clerk with Chesterfield County Public Schools System where she loved children, especially her “helpers.” Barbara was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the adult choir. Mrs. Watson was a former member and chairperson of the Chesterfield County Election Commission. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music and playing piano, and working in her flowers.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Neal Hinson.

          Survivors include her husband of nearly 61 years, William B. Watson of the home; children, Amanda “Mandy” Watson McGee and husband, Keith of Lancaster, SC, and Stephen B. Watson of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Ryan McGee of Lancaster, SC, and Ember Watson of Chesterfield, SC; and sister of the heart, Betty Hurst of Cheraw, SC.
