Barbara E. Tarleton

Mrs. Barbara E. Tarleton, age 75, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Pastor Tim Wright and Rev. Dennis Wallace with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.

Mrs. Tarleton was born September 18, 1942 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late Howard and Ellen Brock Polson. She was a former employee of Delta Mills, Sandhill Quilting, Skyline, Chesterfield Manufacturing, and Cheraw Dyeing and Finishing. Mrs. Tarleton was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed taking trips to the beach and working puzzles. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandsons.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Polson, and infant sister, Patricia Ann Polson.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Alvin D. Tarleton of the home; daughter, Robbie C. (David) O’Neal of Patrick, SC; 2 grandsons, Kevin (Liz) O’Neal of Charlotte, NC, and David (Amber) O’Neal of Cheraw, SC; sister, Mabel (Randall) Tolson of Cheraw, SC; and brother, Billy (Barbara) Polson of Cheraw, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
