Bert Willard Collins was born on September 26, 1926 in Canebrake, WV and entered into rest on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 86 years of age. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice Freda Collins, on March 29, 2013. They were married 65 years and were blessed to have five sons, Kirt (Pat) Collins of Topeka, KS; Bert (Faye) Collins Jr. of Port Murray, NJ; Thomas Collins of Hackettstown, NJ; Gary Collins of Princeton, WV; and Carson (Sharon) Collins of Cheraw, SC. He was the proud grandfather of Shawn and Eric Collins, Gina Seifert and Dana Collins, Todd and Tim Collins, and Jenifer (Rev. W.J.) Wallace, and the great grandfather of Andrew Collins, Maya Wallace, and Madelyn, Isabelle and Colin Seifert.

He loved watching sports and especially enjoyed watching College and NFL Football. Mr. Collins was a proud veteran of WWII and served our country in the military for twenty years. He excelled in anything mathematical, enjoyed talking politics, was a hard worker and provider for his family. Bert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was one of 12 children. His predeceased siblings were, Robert Collins, William Collins, Ray Collins, Ralph Collins, and MaryAlice Collins Fisher. Surviving siblings are, David Collins, Jack Collins, Ronald Collins, Mildred "Millie" Collins Rudd, Peggy Collins Sharff, and Patty Sue Collins. Family was the most important thing in his life and he was happiest when he shared time with his children and their families.

Funeral Services for Bert Willard Collins will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield, SC, with visitation from 12:00 - 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.
