DECEASED: Mrs. Bertha Kneece Rivers, age 84, died Saturday May 5, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM Monday May 7, 2007 at Zoar United Methodist Church, 2842 Zoar Road, Cheraw, S C. Officiating will be the Rev. Christine M. Wechsler, Rev. Edward L. Davidson, and Rev. Dewey Dean.

ENTOMBMENT: will follow in the Rivers Family Cemetery adjoining Zoar United Methodist Church.

VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday May 6, 2007 at the funeral home

HISTORY: Mrs. Rivers was born June 7, 1922, in Dunbarton, SC, a daughter of the late Rev. James Monroe Kneece and Georgia Anderson Kneece. She was a homemaker and dedicated church pianist and organist at Zoar United Methodist Church, and taught Sunday school, Children's choir, and held many offices in her church UMW. As long as she was able she attended area Christian Women's Clubs, where she welcomed all opportunities to share her faith with those she encountered. She was known for her love of all children, who affectionately referred to her as "Miss Bertha".

SURVIVORS: Husband: of 65 years, Bill J. Rivers of the home.
Son: Billy (Nancy) Rivers of Myrtle Beach, SC

Daughter: Dr. Bonnie (Dr. Jack) Drumwright of Sulphur, LA

5 Grandchildren: Bill (Kamlin) Rivers, III of Darlington, SC Lyle (Suzanne) Rivers of Lexington, SC, Kneece Camp of Paris, France, Rivers (Becky) Camp of Sulphur, LA, Sara Camp of Shreveport, LA and 5 Great Grandchildren and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

The family wishes to thank special caregivers, Willie Mae Watts and Linny Gardner for their faithfulness, and many thanks to Hospice of Chesterfield County for their sensitive professionalism.
