Betty Jean Lee Morris, age 80, entered into rest on Monday, August 12, 2024 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 19, 2024 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (2965 W. Market Street Ext., Cheraw, SC 29520)

Mrs. Morris was born August 27, 1943 in Lenoir, NC (Caldwell County) to the late Walton Hill Lee and Hazel Hayes Lee. She attended schools in Lenoir district and worked various jobs while raising four children. Jean married Richard N. Morris of Cheraw, SC on April 8, 1989 and lived 35 happy years together in Cheraw. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed working in her flowers and spending time in nature.
Jean and Richard began a study of the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and shortly thereafter were baptized on February 27, 1993. Both dedicated their lives to Jehovah and seriously tried to help others understand and live by Bible standards. Jean’s love for family, both physical and spiritual were seen in her faithful care for all.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris was also preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Hill Lee, and Clarence “Toney” Lee.
Survivors include her husband, Richard N. Morris of the home; children, Gary A. Lee, Robin A. Young, Kevin D. Anders, and Tarina Kay Woody and husband, Tommy all of Lenoir, NC; bonus children, Karen Ludlow of Cheraw, SC, Jason Morris and wife, Kelly of Panama City, FL, and Ellen Morris of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Christopher A. Lee, Scott A. Lee, Cheyenne Lee, Brooklyn Woody Coffey, Ashley Young, Logan Morris, Caitlyn Morris, Ethan Morris, Ella Morris, Cassidy Beavers, and Gabby Hayes; great grandchildren, Braylen Phillips, Meredith Lee, Connor Lee, McKinley Coffey, Sawyer Coffey, Holden Lee, Caroline Beavers, Carter Beavers, and one to soon be arriving. She is also survived by one sister, Pat Lee Trivette and her husband, Junior of Lenoir, NC; in addition to a great family of spiritual brothers and sisters worldwide of over 8 million Jehovah’s Witnesses.
