Mrs. Betty Faye Wilks Stafford, age 77, entered into rest on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Lower Macedonia Baptist Church by Dr. Lindsay Powell with burial to follow in the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Stafford was born June 20, 1939 in Patrick, SC a daughter of the late Neil Roderick Wilks and Elliot Elizabeth Stroud Wilks. She was a faithful member of Lower Macedonia Baptist Church and a member of the Red Hat Society. Betty loved her Lord, and faithfully studied his word. She enjoyed cooking, singing, and volunteering at the Cheraw Soup Kitchen. A 3-time survivor of breast cancer, Mrs. Stafford will always be remembered for being a Godly prayer warrior.

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, James Harrison “Duke” Stafford; son, James Arnette Stafford, Sr.; grandson, James Lawrence Stafford; and sister, Margaret Sue Nowell.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Susie Wright of Summerville, SC, and Anita Kaye Stafford of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Holly Marie (Andres) Peele-Gomez of Charleston, SC, Burnhard Jamie Stafford of Chesterfield, SC, Suzette Nicole Peele Rowe of Cheraw, SC, Christopher Alan (Kristine Prais) Rhodes of Summerville, SC, Chyna Carter (A.J. Mancha) Motley of Summerville, SC, Zachary Wolfgang Motley of Colorado, Henry Harrison Motley of Colorado, James Arnette “Trey” (Kaylaa) Stafford, Jr., and Trinity Ross Stafford both of Rock Hill, SC; great grandchildren, Nicole Marie Gomez-Peele, Johana Melissa Gomez-Peele, Dennis Carl “Buddy” Rowe, III, Elizabeth Olivia Rowe, Natalia Alicia Mancha, Rodrick Joshua Mancha, Isabella Luz Mancha, and Prosper Uriah-Creed Stafford; 3 brothers, Archie (Frances) Wilks, E.M. Wilks, and David (Doris) Wilks all of Hartsville, SC; 1 sister, Celia Melton of Wallace, SC.
