Ms. Rogers was born September 25, 1939 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late John Henry “Nig” and Henrietta Anderson Evans. Betty adored life, she loved to laugh and joke. Enjoyed having coffee with friends and most of all loved her children. For 20 plus years she worked at Black & Decker.

Along with her children, her flowers were her pride and joy. Gardening was a way of life for her, offering an escape from everyday hustle. In her gardening, along came creativity, an understanding among her children, and gave us a sense of purpose.

Betty appreciated the simple joys in life. She loved the beach, which brought a sense of peace to her day. She was a kind, loving soul who always opened her door to anyone who needed a place to stay.

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Evans; sister, Frances Evans; half-sister, Johnnie Medlin; and by her children’s father, Harry Lee Rogers.

Survivors include her children, Andy Charles Rogers, Sr. of Fayetteville, NC, Mark Lynn (Julie) Rogers of Wilmington, NC, Robbie Lee (Alex) Rogers, Julie Renee (Robert) Walker both of Fayetteville, NC, Kim Suzette (Mike) Poncin of Tampa, FL, Christina (Lt.
