Betty Zane Gaskins

Chesterfield, SC

Miss Betty Zane Gaskins, age 88, entered into rest on Saturday, June 23, 2018. A celebration of life service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Hopewell Baptist Church by Brent Taylor and General David Coffman. The family will receive friends after the service at the church and other times at the home.

Miss Gaskins was born November 9, 1929 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Carl and Jessie Gulledge Gaskins. She was a former employee of Sacony and Chesterfield Manufacturing. A life-long member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Betty was a loving caregiver to her parents. Her hobbies included cooking and working outdoors in her yard.

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mary Ella Lisenby, Charlotte Bagwell, and Madge Dixon; 2 nieces, Frankie Lisenby and Debbie Fortier; and great nephew, Michael Fortier.

Survivors include her sisters, Joan and Jean Gaskins of Chesterfield, SC, and Peggy Gaskins Coffman of Eustis, FL; special “sisters”, Linda Davis, Annelle Teal, Jayne Watson, and Terry Campbell; nephew in law, Mark Fortier; great nephew, Steven Fortier; nieces, Beth, Peggy, Susie, and Charlene; nephews, David, Mike, Tommy, James, and Eddie; also numerous cousins and friends.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
