Mr. Billy G. McCarty, age 78, entered into rest on Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Oakland Baptist Church by Dr. Phillip Hunter and Rev. Luke Morrison with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2017 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. McCarty was born February 8, 1939 in Aiken, SC a son of the late Eugene Albert McCarty and Floy Edna Mae Munday McCarty. He was a retired employee of Greenwood Mills and following his retirement, Billy went to work as an insurance agent with Combined Insurance. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be remembered for his love of family and spending time with his children. Mr. McCarty was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. In his spare time, Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy H. McCarty of the home; 4 sons, Mark (Dianne) McCarty of Hartsville, SC, Brian (Annette) McCarty of McBee, SC, Billy (Becky) McCarty of Cayce, SC, and Bruce McCarty of Hartsville, SC; 3 grandchildren, Beth McCarty, Brittany McCarty, and James McCarty; 4 great grandchildren, Isabella, Lillie, Payton, and Casandra; 2 brothers, Jerry (Linda) McCarty of Aiken, SC, Floyd (Lauren) McCarty of Monetta, SC; sister, Myrtle (Bob) Parks of San Antonio, TX.
