Mr. Billy Ray Curtis, Sr., age 78, entered into rest on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Jason Pope and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the David’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Curtis was born March 16, 1943 in Greensboro, NC a son of the late Gary Franklin “Jack” and Rebecca Eddins Curtis. He was a retired employee of Duff – Norton and a member of David’s Grove Baptist Church. Billy Ray will be fondly remembered as a man who never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Curtis was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Wright Curtis; brother, Gary Wayne “Sam” Curtis; sisters, Jean Curtis Mann, Pat Curtis Gordon, and Sandra Curtis Squires; great granddaughter, Alaina Brooke Quick; and daughter-in-law, Teresa Boan Curtis.
Survivors include his children, Billy Ray “Bee” Curtis, Jr. of Chesterfield, SC, Deanna Suits (Jeff) Chilton of Little River, SC, and Timothy Vance Suits of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Brooklyn Curtis Quick, Samantha (Chris) Crowley, Zachary (Lindsey) Chilton, and Dylan Suits; 7 great grandchildren; beloved companion & caregiver of nearly 30 years, Betty Melton Short; sister, Cheryl Curtis (Stan) Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and administration of Regency SouthernCare Hospice for the exceptional love and care shown to Mr. Curtis and his family.
