Mrs. Blanche C. Boan, age 99, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2017 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Phillip Caulder, Jr. with burial to follow in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00 – 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boan was born June 12, 1918 in Comers Rock, VA a daughter of the late Granville and Samantha Blevins Cheek. She was a retired employee of Cannon Mills and a member of Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church of Kannapolis, NC. Blanche was a devoted caretaker to the elderly and loved taking care of children. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, working crossword puzzles, and working in her yard. She was the epitome of a homemaker and loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, Blanche was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Boan; sons, R.J. Boan, Jr., and Rex Dillard; brothers, Delmar, Richard, Earl, and Gilbert Cheek.

Survivors include her daughter, Martha (Francis) Menius of Kannapolis, NC; 13 grandchildren, Mike (Robyn) Brown of Kannapolis, NC, Donna (Robert) Teal of Cheraw, SC, Steve (Susan) Brown of Kannapolis, NC, Vickie (Gary) Walters of Chesterfield, SC, Timothy (Deb) Menius of Kannapolis, NC, Tony (Tiffany) Boan of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Melissa (Robert) Benfield, and Travis (Amanda) Boan both of Kannapolis, NC, Keith (Lea) Menius of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Toby (Lynn) Boan of Concord, NC, Todd Boan of Kannapolis, NC, Kim (Ryan) Lebrun of Fayetteville, NC, and Cheryl Chavis of Cheraw, SC; 24 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
