Mr. Lewis was born June 11, 1940 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Lum and Ada Odom Lewis. He was a retired Account Manager of Five Star (formerly Aramark) with over 43 years of service where he formed numerous life-long friendships. A life-long faithful member of Brock’s Mill Baptist Church, Bobby served as a former deacon, choir member, and on numerous other committees through the years. Mr. Lewis was also a member of Cheraw Masonic Lodge #15 and a founding member of the BWZ Men’s Club where he served as former chairman and secretary treasurer.
Mr. Lewis thrived on the golf course. His happy place was on the greens with his golfing buddies. He always brought the snacks and the laughs. He cherished his friendships so dearly. Cooking and feeding large groups was special to him. He loved to fellowship and serve. He could never share his delicious recipes because he always, “measured from the heart.” Everything Bobby did was from the heart. He was a loving man who had a heart of gold. A heart that loved his family deeply, and was always present, cheering on and supporting his grandchildren at each event they were involved in.
A humble Christian man, Bobby always possessed a cheerful disposition and a song in his heart. He enjoyed listening to music and loved to sing. He would often compose songs for his family with unique lyrics. Known as a man of prayer, Bobby’s words not only touched heaven but also the hearts of everyone in his presence. Of all things, that Bobby loved and adored in life, nothing compared to the love he had for his bride. He faithfully took care of her until the Lord called her home and the family takes comfort in the fact of knowing they are now reunited.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lewis was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores “Granny Boot” Copeland Lewis; sisters, Novella Gulledge and Delores “Sis” Parks; and brother, Buck Lewis.
He is survived by his children, Kenny (Carmen) Lewis of Patrick, SC, Lisa (Herbie) Beam of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Brittany (Graham) Harpe of Cheraw, SC, Grayson Mills (Richard McCord) of Pageland, SC, Houston (Nicole) Taylor of Aiken, SC, Courtney (Brian) Adams of Greenwood, SC, Madison (Zack) Sellers of Patrick, SC, and Kensley Lewis (Dylan Owen) of Cheraw, SC.
