Mrs. Bonnie Marshall “Sweet Plum” Wilkes, age 66, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 26, 2023 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor James Ran. The family invites all who attend back to the home, 91 Wilkes St., Patrick, SC following the service for a time of visitation.

Mrs. Wilkes was born September 11, 1957, in Chesterfield, SC the daughter of the late Johnny and Althea Tarlton Marshall. Bonnie enjoyed working in her yard and flowers, taking care of her home, and loved to cook. “Sweet Plum” as she was affectionately named by her loving husband Leo, loved her family. She was also a member of the Patrick Pinestraw Festival Committee.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her brothers; Carson Marshall, Bill Marshall, Baxter Marshall, Hildreth Marshall, Dennis Marshall, and BJ Marshall; grandmother, Martha Tarlton

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Leo Wilkes, Sr.; children, Leo (Nichele) Wilkes Jr. of Matthews, NC, Leslie Chanel of Charlotte, NC, and Tony J. Wilkes of Charlotte, NC; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Marshall (Bo) Coit of Cheraw, SC; brothers, Sylvester (Mildred) Marshall of Conway, SC, Dwight Marshall of Patrick, SC; brothers in law, James (Marie) Wilkes of Florence, SC, Herbert (Joanne) Wilkes of Florence, SC; sisters in law, Mary Wilkes, Willie Mae Wilkes, and Barbara Wilkes all of Patrick, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
