Mr. Carl Edwin “Ed” Campbell, age 91, entered into rest on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his home. Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Evans-Spencer-Robeson Cemetery by Phillip Caulder, Jr. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Campbell was born February 10, 1925 in Anson County, NC a son of the late John Sanford and Carrie Stroud Campbell. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and long-time member of the American Legion. Mr. Campbell was a retired employee of INA and a former supervisor with J.P. Stevens. He was a member of Sandy Plains United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

In addition to his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by his first wife, Eloise Campbell; 1 grandson, David Watson; 2 sisters, Venice Huntley and Valda Campbell; and 1 brother, Howard Barnard Campbell.

Survivors include his wife Mary E. “Tippy” Campbell of the home; daughters, Linda Diggs, Brenda (Billy) Gilmore, and Sandy Watson all of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Mitch Watson of Chesterfield, SC, Daniel (Misty) Watson of Summerville, SC; Eddie (Lisa) Gilmore, Melissa (Jay) Sellers, Amanda Martin, and Kevin Diggs all of Chesterfield, SC; great grandchildren, Kristen, Brittany, Richard, Chasity, Brandon, Amy, Austin, Cassie, Taylor, Kaitlin, Tinsley, Bianca, Jax, and Bella.

The family cordially requests that memorials be made in memory of Mr. Campbell to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 401 N. Fifth Street, Hartsville, SC 29550.
