Carolyn Sundy Winburn Davis Goffigon was raised up on Angel wings to Heaven while she was surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 25, 2016. She always enjoyed each blessing in life and never missed an opportunity to help another person. A graduate of Cheraw High School, she attended Winthrop College and was graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1944, with a Business Degree.

Surviving family members include: Howard (Connie) Smith of Blythewood, SC; Paige Genther of Phoenix, AZ; John P. Winburn of Washington, DC; Kenneth (Betty) Winburn of Cheraw, SC; Diane (David) Dyches of Patrick, SC; Veronica (Herbert) Watts of Cheraw, SC; Michael “Bean” (Bonnie) Winburn of Bennettsville, SC; Ronald (Pat) Winburn of Matthews, NC; Mary Jim Winburn Hage of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and two beloved daughters, Donna Leigh (Jim Gardner) of Portland, OR, and Susan Colleen Davis (Michael) Piltz of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by two grandsons Benjamin L. (Sharon) Piltz and Joseph E. (Lori) Piltz. Carolyn has one great granddaughter, Abigail Martha Piltz.

Carolyn Sundy Winburn was preceded in death by her parents, Nora Leo Treacy and John Alexander Winburn of Patrick, SC. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings: Ellen Winburn Huggins; Edward “Treacy” Winburn; Catherine V. Winburn; John W. Winburn; James N. Winburn and her twin, Cornelius Sundy Winburn, known by everyone as “Bean”. Three nieces and a nephew also preceded the passing of Carolyn: Barbara Huggins Smith, Treacy L. Smith, C. Ann Winburn Pruitt Smith and Joseph L. Winburn.

Two spouses also preceded Carolyn in passing: United States Navy Lieutenant Richard Lloyd Davis and Eugene K. Goffigon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Patrick Cemetery.
