Carolyn Rollins Shirley, 80, of Columbia, died on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Born in Jefferson, SC, on October 17, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Broadus and Louise Price Rollins. Mrs. Shirley was a graduate of Jefferson High School and married her husband, Jerry, in 1968. Following her marriage, they moved to Charleston, SC where she worked for Bank of America until her retirement. Together, she and her husband were members of Hillcrest Baptist Church of North Charleston. She enjoyed reading, Carolina Gamecock football, as well as traveling on cruises and within the states. Upon moving to Columbia, she joined North Trenholm Baptist Church where she remained active until her death.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee Shirley; sister, Ethel “Missy” Eubanks, of Jefferson, SC; brother, Frank Rollins (Pat), of Social Circle, GA; sister-in-law, Era Rollins, of Columbia, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gerald Rollins and Ray Franklin “Nick” Rollins.

The funeral service for Mrs. Shirley will be held at 2 o’clock, Tuesday, November 5th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with the Rev. David Knapp officiating. Burial will follow the service at 3:30 o’clock at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1659 Kershaw Hwy, Camden, SC 29020. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o’clock.
