Cary Welch Teal

Mr. Cary Welch Teal, age 89, entered into rest on Monday, May 13, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, McFarlan, NC by Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Teal was born June 1, 1929 in Marshville, NC a son of the late Cary Wallace and Isabel Davis Teal. He was a retired steel contractor and enjoyed traveling, camping, and riding motorcycles. Mr. Teal enjoyed “piddling,” and could repair anything from small engines to antique clocks.

In addition to his parents, Welch was also preceded in death by his brother, Norwood Elbridge Teal.

Survivors include his niece, Betty (Geoff) Chatham of Carolina Shores, NC; nephew, Freddy C. (Frances) Teal of Wadesboro, NC; great niece, Amy (Robert Merchant) Caskey of Monroe, NC and her children, Lucas, Cameron, and Colby Teal Caskey; great nephews, Chris Johnson of Polkton, NC and his son, Gavin Johnson, Freddy Scott Teal and his children, Amber Shepherd and Ashley Teal, Norwood Michael Teal and his children, Maddison and Kaytlin Teal, and Don Franklin Teal all of Wadesboro, NC; also special friend, Donnie Lowery of McFarlan, NC.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
