INTERMENT: will follow at the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park
VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, May 5, 2008 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home
HISTORY: Mr. Atkinson was born June 19, 1923 in Mt. Croghan, SC a son of the late Thomas Hendrick and Hilda Burch Atkinson. He was a graduate of Mt. Croghan High School and attended Clemson College. Mr. Atkinson was retired owner of Atkinson Texaco and was also associated with Tri - State Trucking and Chesterfield Drug Company. He was a veteran of WW II having served as a Second Engineer in the American Merchant Marines. Charles Ray was a faithful member of Mt. Croghan Baptist Church, where he served as Church Treasurer for many years.

6 Grandchildren: Kevin (Gena) Atkinson of Lexington, SC, Jason (Britton) Atkinson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dan (Amanda) Atkinson of Greer, SC, Mandy Atkinson of Laurens, SC, Candice Watson of Forest City, NC, and Derek Watson of Chesterfield, SC
