FUNERAL SERVICE: will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Ruby Baptist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the Ruby Cemetery

VISITATION: 2:00 - 3:00 PM, Saturday prior to the service in the Church Fellowship Hall

HISTORY: Mr. Thurman was born October 13, 1928 in Ruby, SC a son of the late John Thomas "Tom" and Cora Gulledge Thurman. He was a graduate of Ruby High School. Mr. Thurman was a truck driver and diesel mechanic and retired from Sonoco Products. He attended Ruby Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Azilee Rivers Thurman, 2 sons, Kenneth T. Thurman, Sr. and Gerald Wayne Thurman, 2 brothers, Bobby and James T. "Buddy" Thurman, and by 2 sisters, Susie T. Raffaldt, and Helen T. Clark.

SURVIVORS:
3 Sons: James Charles (Linda) Thurman, and Luke Thurman of Ruby, SC, and Walter "Buster" (Tina) Thurman of Simpsonville, SC
2 Daughters: Patricia A. Thurman of Chesterfield, SC, and Mary "Charlie" (David) Deese of Ruby, SC
Daughter-in-law: Brenda L. Thurman of Ruby, SC
6 Grandchildren: Kenneth T. Thurman, Jr., Angela T. Smith, Becky Thurman, Devon Thurman, Caleb and Joseph Deese
5 Great Grandchildren
1 Brother: William D. "Pete" (Sandra) Thurman of Chesterfield, SC
