Charles G. "Charlie" Jackson

Tyndall, SD

Mr. Charles “Charlie” Graham Jackson, age 73, (formerly of Chesterfield, SC) entered into rest on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society of Tyndall, South Dakota. A Celebration of Charlie’s life will be announced at a later date. He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Chesterfield Cemetery, Chesterfield, SC.

Mr. Jackson was born February 19, 1947 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late David Redfern and Lena Graham Jackson. Charlie lived in several states throughout his life, but Chesterfield was always his home. He was an active member of Chesterfield Baptist Church and enjoyed daily strolls along Main Street. Although his life included many challenges, he was a true gift from God, as his family was told and prepared for a life expectancy of only 13 years.

Charlie always had a trust and liking for all mankind, causing everyone he met to be an instant “Buddy”. He was an extremely kind and patient individual to everyone he met. He was very fond of his niece, Buffy and was extremely proud of the fact that he taught her how to walk by holding on to his pants legs.  He was a lover of music especially Fred Kirby and Perry Como.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was also preceded in death by his brother, David Phillip Jackson.

Charlie is survived by his sister-in-law, Fay Jackson Hubbard, his niece, Buffy Jackson Challenger, and her 2 boys, Jackson Challenger and David Philip Challenger; and 12 cousins.

A special mention and gratitude for the staff and residents of the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall, SD and his close friend Sonya Sievers-Wattier.
