Charles Linsie Linton

Mr. Charles “Linsie” Linton, age 87, entered into rest on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Phillip Caulder, Jr. with burial to follow in the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Linton was born July 24, 1930 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Oscar and Mozelle Linton. Linsie, along with his late father, was the owner and operator of the Linton Shop. A member of Oakland Baptist Church, Linsie enjoyed playing any instrument he chose and singing with the Linton family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Linton was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elzy Rae Melton Linton; daughters, Shirley Linton Burr, and Debbie Linton Brown; son, Johnny Ray Linton; sister, Beatrice L. Cassidy; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Cassidy.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Linton of the home; grandchildren, Denise (Robert) Barefoot of Hartsville, SC; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Ty Barefoot of Hartsville, SC; step-children, Angela (Walter) Hodge of Cheraw, SC, and Sheila Fields of Chesterfield, SC; 3 step-grandchildren, Dawson, Devin, and Courtney Haywood;  nephews, Murray (Sadie) Cassidy of Cheraw, SC, and Reggie (Jan) Cassidy of Chesterfield, SC.
