DECEASED: Mr. Charlie Wesley Parker, age 92, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 14, 2012 after being in declining health the past 5 months.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2012 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Wallace, SC

INTERMENT: Will follow in the Church Cemetery

VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC


HISTORY: Mr. Parker was born August 8, 1920 in Bennettsville, SC a son of the late Hutson and Farebee Scott Parker. He was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens with 42 years of service. Mr. Parker was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school Teacher, choir member, member of the Hickory Grove Quartet, and Deacon for over 50 years, and was named an Honorary Deacon for his service. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Purvis Driggers Parker, and second wife, Novella English Driggers; 1 daughter, Rhonda Parker Shaw; 3 brothers, Henry, Fred, and John Parker; and by 1 sister, Elizabeth Grant.

1 Daughter: Sarah P. (Jimmy) Dotson of Cheraw, SC
