HISTORY: Mr. Polk was born October 12, 1937 in Patrick, SC a son of the late Charlie Robert and Bertice Ingram Polk. He was a retired supervisor with Sonoco Products Co. with 40 years of service, and was a member of the Old Timer's Club. He was a mason, a former member of the SC National Guard, and was a charter member of the Patrick Rescue Squad. Charlie was an active member and Deacon of Patrick Baptist Church. Monk enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking. In addition to his parents, Charlie was also preceded in death by a daughter Bea Polk Gardner, his brother, James William "Bo" Polk, and by 2 sisters, Maggie Lee McLain and Emma Jean McLain.

Wife of 54 years: Roberta Kirven Polk of the home
2 Daughters: Teresa Polk (Freddie) Chewning of Cheraw, SC and Dawn Polk of Patrick, SC
1 Sister: Louise Polk Rhyne of Patrick, SC
