DECEASED: Mrs. Christine Cassidy Funderburk, age 86, passed away September 17, 2008, following a short illness.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: will be held 4:00 PM, Friday, September 19, 2008 at Palmetto Baptist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the church cemetery

VISITATION: 3:00 - 4:00 PM prior to the service at the church

HISTORY: Mrs. Funderburk was born September 3, 1922 in Patrick, SC to Rassie Edele Cassidy, and was raised by her grandparents, Ida and W. J. L. Cassidy. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother, and devout Christian. She was a lifelong faithful member and cornerstone of Palmetto Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 25 years, and was the church reporter. Mrs. Funderburk was also an avid seamstress and gardener. Her meek, humble spirit was admired by all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Basil Avery Funderburk, and granddaughters, Melissa Funderburk Wallace and Amy Leigh Best.

Also 15 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great, Great, Grandchild
2 Sisters: Mescal Cassidy Bryan of Wilmington, NC, and Kathleen Goulet Huesmann of Conway, AR
3 Sisters-in-law: Jerri Funderburk of Lancaster, SC, Verdie Funderburk Phillips of Baltimore, MD, and Pat Wagner of Ruby, SC
