Clifton Owens

Mr. Clifton Owens, age 75, entered into rest on Monday, March 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Middendorf Church of God by Pastor Brandon Ard with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Thursday prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Owens was born July 5, 1943 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Oscar and Lillie Mae Windham Owens. He was a retired employee of Highland Industries with over 36 years of service. A faithful member of Middendorf Church of God, Clifton was a former member of the church council. His hobbies included collecting and restoring antique trucks, cutting grass, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Clifton was also preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Gale Rivers; brother, Oscar “Bud” Owens, Jr.; and sister, Martha Brumley.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda J. Owens of the home; children, Lisa (Jack Allen) Walters of Cheraw, Dorothy (Robert) Hancock of Mt. Croghan, Clifton Dewayne Owens of Cheraw, Kimberly (Jimmy) Lisenby of Chesterfield, and Chris Purvis of Cheraw; grandchildren, Josh (Chandra) Taylor of Cheraw, Brandon (Tonya) Walters of Laurinburg, NC, Michael (Kayla) Walters, and Clifton Dewayne “Bucky” Owens, Jr. both of Cheraw, Brittany Potter of Wallace, Rusty Hancock, and Stephany Hancock, both of Mt. Croghan, Jami Lisenby,  and Anna Lisenby both of Chesterfield, Abigail Purvis, Leroy Purvis, Shanda Purvis, and Will Purvis all of Cheraw; great grandchildren, Trinity, Peyton, Isabella, Noah, Ashton, Myla, Preston, Oakland, Bridgette, and Trace; siblings, Charlie Owens of Pageland, Artha (Lucille) Owens of Ruby, Earnest Owens of Chesterfield, John (Brenda) Owens of Kannapolis, NC, Ronnie J. Owens, and Patricia Owens both of Ruby, Janie Jordan of Pageland, and Carolyn (Johnny) Hamilton of Mt. Croghan; sister-in-law, Goldie Owens of Chesterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
