Danny Everette Griggs

Cheraw, SC

Mr. Danny Everette Griggs, age 57, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at North Cheraw Baptist Church by the Honorable Rev. Richie Yow with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Croghan, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Griggs was born October 7, 1960, in Monroe, NC a son of the late Everette and Nina Self Griggs. A retired employee of INA Bearing with 24 years of service, Danny was a member of North Cheraw Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. A loving husband, proud father and grandfather, Danny enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He was an avid S.C. Gamecocks fan and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf, tennis, softball, riding motorcycles, and bowling.  His favorite get-away was time spent at the Stone cabin and camping at the State Park.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Griggs was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Arthur Wright.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years, Debbie S. Griggs of the home; 3 daughters, Niki (Bracey) Stone of Laurinburg, NC, Elizabeth Griggs of the home, and Abby (Shane) Boone of Cheraw, SC; 8 grandchildren, H.B. Stone, Mark Hill, Marcey Stone, Coen Hill, Alden Thomas, Aubry Thomas, Madison Burr, and Lilly Burr; 2 sisters, Brenda (Ralph) Mills of Pageland, SC, and Tammy Wright of Mt. Croghan, SC; and his mother-in-law, Carrie Brewington of Cheraw, SC.
