Mr. David Ray Parks, age 44, died Saturday, July 16, 2016. A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Parks was born April 26, 1972 in Cheraw, SC a son of the late Johnny Herbert and Frances Delores “Sis” Lewis Parks. He was a former logger and enjoyed the outdoors. Mr. Parks also enjoyed listening to music, watching soap operas, and spending time with his children and grandson. He was excitingly awaiting his second grandbaby.

In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Herbert “Herbie” Parks, Jr.

Survivors include his children, Dustin Parks and his fiancée Macey Millen of Wallace, SC; Adam Jacob Parks and friend Brooke Melton, and Sarah Elizabeth Parks both of Morven, NC, Rachel Ann Parks of Florence, SC, Bethany Rae Parks of Morven, NC, and Zachary Blackwell of Chesterfield, SC; 1 grandson, Nicholas Alexander Parks; 1 brother, Lee Lear of Galivants Ferry, SC; 2 sisters, Tina Ratliff and husband Flint of Chesterfield, SC, and Joni Ann Grooms of Rockingham, NC; his aunt, Betty Freeman of Chesterfield, SC, uncle, Bobby Lewis of Chesterfield, SC; nephews, Flint Danny Ratliff and Shane Grooms, Jr.; Makayla Propst and Alyssa Faith Parks
