DECEASED: Mrs. DeThane Merriman Garbelman, age 90, of Eagle Crest, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at her residence.

She was born April 24, 1920, in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late John William and Marie Elizabeth Middleton Merriman. Mrs. Garbelman was an elegant woman with a fascination for shoes and fashion. She enjoyed golf and gardening. In addition to her parents, DeThane was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Garbelman, 2 brothers, J. W. (Mary Lou) Merriman and Perry Merriman, and by 3 sisters, Gladys M. (Ray) Johnston, Lattie Merriman, and Geraldine M. (Ralph) Watson.

She is survived by her brother I. B. Merriman and his wife Jo of Chesterfield, SC and sons, Henry Garbelman and his wife Adriana of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kevin Garbelman and his wife Alicia of Dale City, VA; and 3 grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel in Myrtle Beach, SC

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC

Inurnment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery
