DECEASED: Mr. Dewey L. "Jack" King, Sr., age 82, died Thursday, November 29, 2012.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Shiloh United Methodist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the Church Cemetery

VISITATION: is 2:00 - 4:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mr. King was born December 4, 1929 in Chesterfield, SC, a son of the late Arthur Ellison and Lula May Polson King. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and was a former employee of Stephenson Hardware, Cheraw Sash, Door, and Lumber Co., and J.P. Stevens. Jack was owner of Niven Hardware Co. Inc. from 1970 - 1996. He was a retired Command Sergeant Major with the SC Army National Guard, with 42 years of service, and was a charter member of the Cheraw Rotary Club. Jack was one of the founders of the Chesterfield County Rural Water Co., and served on the Board of Directors for many years. He was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Finance Committee for many years, and was a member of the Men's Bible Class. Jack enjoyed being a cattle farmer and growing hay.

1 Daughter: Ann K. (Nelson) Hendrick of Chesterfield, SC
6 Grandchildren: Caroline K. (Charlie) Miles, Jackson (Crista) King, Jack (Nikki) Hendrick, Alyson H. (Adam) Dyar, Hannah King, and Langley King
3 Great Grandchildren: Briley Miles, Ella King, and Jameson Miles
2 Brothers: J.W. King of Florence, SC and William E. "Bill" King of North Augusta, SC
3 Sisters: Juanita K. Gulledge and Sara K. Hopper of Ruby, SC and Esther Mae K. Smith of Indiana
