Dewitt "Ray" Kennedy

Mr. Dewitt “Ray” Kennedy, age 62, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Friends may visit with the family anytime at the home of Bobby and Faye Miller, 134 Frankie Dr., Chesterfield, SC 29709.

Mr. Kennedy was born August 6, 1955 in Gaffney, SC a son of the late Lee Francis Kennedy and Dorothy Louise Nichols Kennedy Gossett. Ray was a carpenter by trade and liked sitting on his porch watching the traffic go by. Ray enjoyed puzzles, crafts, fishing and was an avid classic car enthusiast. Mr. Kennedy enjoyed watching preachers on television and listening to preachers that would come to the home to preach as well.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Wilson Kennedy, Lee Jackson Kennedy, Lucky Randall Kennedy; and his step-father, James Marvin Gossett.

Survivors include daughters; Faye (Bobby) Miller of Chesterfield, SC,  Pam "River" (Jamie)  Farmer of Greer, SC; brothers; Steve Kennedy of Spartanburg, SC, Donnie Kennedy of Forest City, NC; and a sister; Angie Goode of Cowpens, SC; 3 grandchildren; Keith, Taylor, and Brandon Greene; also numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Chesterfield Presbyterian Church, 209 W. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
