Dillon W. Mills

Mr. Dillon W. Mills, age 83, entered into rest on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Lighthouse Baptist Church by Pastor Steven Aldridge, Rev. David Roscoe and Rev. Johnny Tadlock with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 Wednesday, prior to the service in the church sanctuary and at other times at the home.

Mr. Mills was born January 31, 1934 in Monroe, NC a son of the late S.W. “Pete” and Lula McCoy Mills. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Mr. Mills’ working career spanned over 50 years working with overhead doors. In his spare time, Dillon enjoyed working in his shop “tinkering” on old cars, but his greatest pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Dillon was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Craig Tadlock; brothers, William and Albert Mills; and sisters, Virginia Starnes, Estelle Mills, and Virgie Rogers.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth Mills of the home; son, Ralph (Brenda) Mills of Mt. Croghan, SC; daughter, Libby Tadlock of Pageland, SC; 7 grandchildren, Tracy (Kelley) Tadlock of Pageland, SC, Daniel (Cristy) Tadlock of Monroe, NC, Crystal (Rev. Steven) Aldridge of Pageland, SC, Amanda (Will) Rollins of Darlington, SC, Rev. David (Whitney) Roscoe of Chesterfield, SC, Anthony Mills of Pageland, SC, and Matthew (Miriam) Roscoe of Ruby, SC; 20 great grandchildren, Kali, Harleigh, Bailey, Claire, Kinley, Spencer, Edan, Elea, Seth, Lydia, Haven, McKinley, Aubrey, Emma, Bo, Alivia, Luke, Savana, Brody, and Mia; 2 brothers, Woodrow (Sally) Mills of Pageland, SC, and Hubert “Buddy” (Mary) Mills of Monroe, NC, sister, Gladys Rape of Marshville, NC; also numerous nieces and nephews.
