Mr. Donald L. “Don” Eddins, age 86, entered into rest on Sunday, December 3, 2017. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Ruby Baptist Church by Rev. Ronald Thurman and Rev. Ralph Jacobs with burial to follow in the Ruby Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Eddins was born September 10, 1931 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Dewey E. and Neal Sellers Eddins. He was a graduate of Ruby High School, Class of 1949, and a life-long member of Ruby Baptist Church where he faithfully served as former Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and was actively involved in the Baptist Men. Mr. Eddins was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee of McLane Trucking and former employee of Hennis Freight Lines and Johnson Motor Lines. An avid outdoorsman and true family man, Don enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Eddins was also preceded in death by his son, Donald Edward Eddins; daughter, Janet Faye Eddins Hutson; brother, Leland Eddins; and sisters, Belma Faye Edgeworth and Evelyn Thurman.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth “Lib” Eddins of the home; 2 sons, David Russell (Lisa Steen) Eddins of Ruby, SC, and Robert Scott (Gini) Eddins of Cheraw, SC; 7 grandchildren, Lori Dawn Morton of Ruby, SC, Monika Lynn Eddins Mucci of Chesterfield, SC, Robert Glenardo “Trey” Hutson, III, Kristin Kara Hutson, and Cameron Scott Eddins all of Cheraw, SC, Holt Landon Eddins of Chesterfield, SC, and Greer Elizabeth Eddins of Cheraw, SC; also 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
