Donald Ray "Don" Cook

Mr. Donald Ray “Don” Cook, age 70, entered into rest on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Westfield Creek Baptist Church by Pastor Jason Pope, Rev. Jeff Davis, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church, 316 Westfield Church Road, Cheraw, SC 29520.

Mr. Cook was born December 16, 1947 in Monroe, NC a son of the late Oscar and Ellie Price Cook. He was a retired employee of the North Carolina Department of Transportation and a faithful member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church. Don loved the Lord, his family, his church family, and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to tell a “classic” joke. He enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith show, fishing, and his favorite pastime was going out to eat.

In addition to his parents, Don was also preceded in death by his twin sister, Carolyn Faye Cook, sisters, Joyce Pressley and Eloise Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Janice S. Cook of the home; son, Donald Dwayne Cook, Jr. of Ruby, SC; 2 daughters, Amy (Don) Wright of Midway, TN, and Tracy (Freddie) Rodriguez of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Moriah Rodriguez, Freddi Rodriguez, and Charity Rodriguez; sisters, Sadie Cook, Betty King both of Monroe, NC and Ann Furr of Midland, NC; special friends, Edward and Dianne Brock of Cheraw, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.
