Donald Wayne Brown

Private graveside services for Mr. Donald Wayne Brown, 73, will be held at Palmetto Baptist Church Cemetery in Chesterfield County, SC. The Rev. Dr. George Howle and The Rev. Ken Hughes will officiate. Memorials may be made in his honor to Lakeview Baptist Church, 202 Lakeview Blvd., Hartsville, SC 29550. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Mr. Brown died peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2020. Born in Chesterfield County, SC, he was a son of the late John LaCoste Brown and Maude Brigman Brown. He loved to play the piano, which he learned at Ruby High School. He played at the early age of six for Palmetto Baptist Church, and often for weddings, funerals, and revivals. Donald was employed with Sonoco Products Company for 39 years, where he worked as a Supply Supervisor until his retirement. He was a good brother, he looked out for us for all of those years, and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his brother, Leroy (Mary) Brown of Hartsville, SC; sister, Doris Brown Bowen of Columbia, SC; nieces, Pamela Howle of Murrell’s Inlet, SC, Angie Rosier of Columbia, SC; nephew, Coy L. Brown of Mount Pleasant, SC; great-nephews, R. J. Howle, Drew LaCoste Brown; great-nieces, Emma Brown, Reagan Brown.
