Doris Woodward Wallace Campbell

Mrs. Doris Woodward Wallace Campbell died Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the age of 101. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at White Oak Presbyterian Church by Pastor Charlie Short with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.

Doris was born February 2, 1924 in the White Oak Community of Ruby SC, the daughter of the late James and Mary Hancock Woodward.

A lifelong and faithful member of White Oak Presbyterian Church, Doris cherished her church family.

Doris and husband, Shorty enjoyed fishing the ponds at the Wildlife Refuge. They were often seen riding down the road with their fishing poles dangling from their pickup. Doris inherited the "Woodward Green Thumb" and always maintained a beautiful flower garden.

Doris worked at North Star Leather Company of Ruby, SC well into her nineties.

Doris started school two years early to be with her older sister Madge. The two sisters remained close throughout their lifetimes. Retaining her sharp memory, Doris would recount stories of growing up on the family farm during the Great Depression.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by husbands, Johnny Wallace and Calvin "Shorty" Campbell, and her infant sister Mary Elizabeth.

She is survived by her sister Madge Allen, niece Janice (Doug) Thompson, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
