Mrs. Doris Jean Sellers Cavett, age 81, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Elizabeth Baptist Church by Rev. Jonathan Cox with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Cavett was born November 2, 1940 in Florence, SC a daughter of the late David Harris Sellers, Sr. and Gladys Therrell Sellers. She was a retired employee of Griffin’s 88 and a former employee of SLS Corporation. Doris was a member of New Life Baptist Fellowship and enjoyed making crafts and watching game shows. A lady who was the true matriarch of her family, Doris’ most memorable times were spent loving on her great grandbabies. They were truly the apple of her eye.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cavett was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Carrol E. Cavett.
Survivors include her children, Sandra C. (Owen) Deese, and Jeffery C. (Belecia) Cavett both of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Christina R. Cavett, Clint (Michelle) Cavett, Jacob (Maria) Trombley, Job (Kacie) Trombley, Christian (Raley) Wilson, Katey (Terry) Morrison, Cannan Wilson, Kanbrey Wilson, Ashley (Jordan) Seidhom, Emily (Nic) Martin, and Amanda Deese; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, David H. (Catherine) Sellers, Jr. of Chesterfield, SC, James (Debra) Sellers of Mt. Croghan, SC; sister, Carol Davis (Rev. DeWayne) Evans of Mt. Croghan, SC; sister-in-law, Barbara (Mike) Parker of Tennessee, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Regency SouthernCare Hospice of Chesterfield for their excellent care and service to Mrs. Doris and the family.
