Dorothy "Dot" Sims Woodward

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Sims Woodward, age 88, entered into rest on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Woodward was born January 19, 1935 in Jefferson, SC a daughter of the late William and Bessie Jordan Sims. She was a former employee of Springs Industries and a retired employee of Wal-Mart. A faithful Christian lady, Dot loved the Lord and was a faithful pastor’s wife for many years. She loved animals, especially her pet racoons and fur baby, “Mac Mac.”

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woodward was also preceded in death her husband, Reverend Clyde Robert Woodward; brothers, William Harold Sims, and David Sims; and nephews, Harold Edward Sims and William Richard (Janet) Sims.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Frances B. Brazell of Lancaster, SC; niece, Nicole (Jason Steele) Sims of Lancaster, SC and their children, Tristian and Nathan Steele; cousin, Cynthia Colledge of Kings Mountain, NC; close family friend, Erika Wilson; and loving caregivers, Holley Shannon, Robert Hayes, and Thomas Wright.
