MEMORIAL SERVICE: 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield, SC
INTERMENT: Private Family Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery
VISITATION: 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2013 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
HISTORY: Mrs. Rivers was born August 9, 1924, in Hartsville, SC, a daughter of the late Jess Wright Ammons and Mary Jane Hoffman Ammons. She was a 1943 graduate of McBee High School, and was the retired Director of the Chesterfield County Council on Aging. Mrs. Rivers also was a former bank officer with the Peoples Bank, and was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church. "Miss Dot" enjoyed quilting, growing flowers, reading, needle point, and singing with her grandchildren. She was a "people person" and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, David Oscar Rivers, a daughter, Patricia Rivers Pollock, a grandchild, a great grandchild, l brother, and 4 sisters.
