          Mrs. Dot Eddins Pender, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 20, 2022 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Pine Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Mark Phillips and the Honorable Rep. Pastor Richie Yow with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

 

          In keeping with Mrs. Dot’s tradition and preference, everyone attending the service at the church is asked to back into their parking space!

 

          Mrs. Pender was born October 3, 1931 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Cull and Laura Freeman Eddins. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Webbing and a former employee of Hartsville Manufacturing. A life-long faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Dot was very active throughout the years in the W.M.U. – Baptist Women, Adult Choir, Sunday school teacher, children’s activities, and various other committees involving preparing meals. Mrs. Pender was the first recipient of the church's Mother of the Year in 1987. She was known as the true matriarch of her family and loved them unconditionally. Dot also enjoyed gardening, watching Clemson football, and watching her favorite television show, The Price is Right.

 

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pender was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Pender; daughter-in-law, Amy Pender; and all of her siblings, Will Eddins, infant sister Ollie Eddins, Ola E. Baker, Dolly E. Moore, C B Eddins, Edgar Eddins, Evelyn “Sis” E. Campbell, Louise E. Herndon, and Charles W. “Dinky” Eddins.

 

          Survivors include her children, Gerald “Wayne” Pender, Cindy P. (John) Beard both of Chesterfield, SC, and Shelia P. (Ricky) Hodges of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Walker Hodges, and Pres Beard; numerous nieces and nephews including, Carolyn Moore Rivers, Linda Royall, Billy Eddins, and Sonia Adams; daughters of the heart, Sherry Eddins White, and Kim Burch Gaskins.

 

 

          Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church “Building Fund,” or “Scholarship Fund” 293 Zoar Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709 or to the Hospice of Chesterfield County Foundation, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
