Douglas "Doug" Edwin Perdue

Patrick, SC

          Mr. Douglas “Doug” Edwin Perdue, age 72, formerly of Surfside Beach, SC, entered into rest on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the McLeod Hospice House. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 15, 2023 at Patrick Cemetery by Frankie Joyner. The visitation will be immediately following the service at the home.

          In keeping with Doug’s passion of NASCAR, the services were strategically planned following the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

          Mr. Perdue was born December 24, 1950 in Hartsville, SC a son of the late Floyd and Marian Jane Griggs Perdue. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the VFW. Doug was a retired Nuclear Valve Technician and enjoyed working as an auto mechanic for years. He also enjoyed dirt track racing and was proud to share his stories and accomplishments while driving the “Legendary Phantom 309.”

          In addition to his parents, Mr. Perdue was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Perdue; and daughter, Robin Webb Williams.

          Survivors include his daughter, Alicia Perdue and husband, Ronnie Dew of Patrick, SC; son, John Perdue; grandchildren, Kinlyn Davis, McKenna Davis, Celsey Dew, Cassidy Blanchard, Carmen Dew, and Tanner Williams; brother, Wendell (Hazel) Perdue of Patrick, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

          Memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice House, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502.
