DECEASED: Mr. Vernon Edward "Ed" Garris, age 71, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 7, 2015

FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Westside Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC

INTERMENT: will follow in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC

VISITATION: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, February 9, 2015 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC

HISTORY: Mr. Garris was born March 19, 1943 in Hartsville, SC, a son of the late William Franklin and Eva Mae Tice Garris. He was a graduate of Cheraw High School and attended Chesterfield-Marlboro TEC. Ed was a retired purchasing agent with Becker Sand and Gravel Company and a former member of the SC Army National Guard. He was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and was a member of the Westside Cooks. Ed also served as former Youth Leader, Treasurer, Choir member, and Trustee. He was also a Mason. Ed was a Husband and Daddy extraordinaire, a special Brother and Uncle, and a true friend to all who knew him. He was also a master pound cake baker, a Granddaddy to many, and will always be remembered for his Donald Duck impersonations. In addition to his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Garris, Jr., Bennett Garris, and Jimmy Garris.

2 Sisters: Ruby Brigman and Shirley Chapman both of Cheraw, SC
Sister-in-law: Lorraine Garris of Wallace, SC
Brother-in-law: Richard (Betty) Board of Cheraw, SC
