Mr. Edison K. Graves, age 78, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 3:00 Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church by Pastor Tommy - Lee Sexton with the eulogy being offered by his grandson, Clark Graves. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Graves was born June 26, 1945 and raised in Pageland, SC a son of the late Alvin and Vera Davidson Graves. Throughout his entire professional career, Mr. Graves dedicated himself to the office supplies industry. He spent many years working at Officeworks Carolina of Chesterfield. However, his true passion lay in helping others and making a positive impact on young lives.

Mr. Graves was deeply involved in mentoring and coaching youth sports. He played a pivotal role in starting Jefferson Dixie Youth baseball and served as a coach. Additionally, he played an active part in organizing Post 80 American Legion baseball in Jefferson, SC. Mr. Graves's commitment to sports extended beyond coaching; he was an avid sports fan who kept up with the latest stats. He was a loyal supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks, and some of his last words were, “They’re going to win, I just don’t know what year!”

Traveling with his family to the mountains and beach brought Mr. Graves much joy. He also enjoyed leisurely rides through the countryside and enjoying a bag of boiled peanuts or a ripe cantaloupe. Another hobby close to his heart was antiquing and attending auctions in pursuit of finding hidden treasures at great price.

True happiness for Mr. Graves came from spending time with his family. Throughout their over 60 years of marriage, he shared a special bond with his wife Josie, and she affectionately addressed him as "Punkie." However, his greatest delight came from being known as "Pa-Pa" and "Poppy" by his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Graves was also preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Angaran, and Gail Harper.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Josie Sullivan Graves of the home; children, Rodney D. Graves and wife, Dawn of Spartanburg, SC, Stephen K. Graves and wife, Amy of Elgin, SC, Ryan D. Graves and wife, Ann of Chesterfield, SC, Christian S. Graves and wife, Kendall of Jefferson, and Melina “MeMe” G. Gaston and husband, Chris of Blythewood, SC; grandchildren, Clark (Melia) Graves, Luke (Grace) Graves, Lanie Graves, Addie (Scotty) Edwards, Victoria Bostrom, Leila Bostrom, Savannah (William) Shelton, Evan Graves, Paisley Graves, Trent Courtney, Grant Downen, Baylor Graves, and Charlotte Graves.

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Hampton Graves, Haiden Graves, Nolen Graves, Harper Graves, Raylen-Kate Edwards, and Henlee Edwards; and mother-in-law, Estelle Sullivan of Jefferson, SC.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Sherri Funderburk, a dear friend and nurse to the family. They would also like to express their appreciation to Erica and Becky from Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield, as well as Hannah, a dedicated C.N.A., and the entire hospice staff for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church's "Youth Fund" at 1357 Johnson Road in Jefferson SC 29718.
