Mrs. Edith Carter Brown, age 87, entered into rest on Saturday, June 22, 2019 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Cross Branch Baptist Church by Rev. Rufus Leonard, Rev. Cliff Leonard, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brown was born December 14, 1931 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late John and Anna Thelma Crowley Carter. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Cross Branch Baptist Church. Edith was a loving caregiver to many different ladies through the years. A true matriarch, Edith loved her family. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and traveling. She also enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, reading and sewing.

In addition to her parents, Edith was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Wilson Brown; son, Kenneth “KB” Brown; son-in-law, Dennis Crowley; brothers, John Perry “Buck” Carter, Carson Edison Carter, and Joseph Benjamin Carter; infant sister, Doris Iris Carter; and step-mother, Alice J. Carter

Survivors include her children, Doris “Gerald” (Jesse) Rollings, Marilyn Crowley, Andy (Betty) Brown all of Patrick, SC, Bobby (Debbie) Brown of Chesterfield, SC, Johnny (Linda) Brown of Patrick, SC; grandchildren, Tara (Scott) Rivers, Connie (Chris Deese) Brown, Jessie (Bill) Altman, Jonathan Brown, Alyssa Brown, Donna Sanders, and Christy (Jerry) Rump, Tina (Kevin) Gaskins, Tabitha Brown, Tony Rollings, Scott Rollings, and Angel (John) Lakey; great grandchildren, Taylor, Paiten, Linkin, Camryn “Cami”, Marissa “Nikki”, Ashton, Jackson, Logan, Macy, Mitch, Lyn, Landon, Hannah, Tori, Kristian, Zeva, Xander, Lelond, Kayden, Kaylee, Mallorie, and David; great-great grandchildren, Phillip and Sawyer; siblings, Cecil (Dorothy) Carter of Asheboro, NC, Freddie (Linda) Carter, Carlos (Willie Mae) Carter, Barbara (Grover) Dixon all of Patrick, SC, and Jack (Nancy) Carter of Trinity, NC; sisters-in-law, Novella Carter of Seagrove, NC, and Joyce Carter of Patrick, SC; step-brothers, Wayne (Jean) Jordan, and Donald (Libby) Jordan both of Patrick, SC; and children of the heart including Clyde and Ray Crowley along with numerous others
