History: Mrs. Motley was born November 18, 1926 in Ocala, Fl a daughter of the late Walter and Tululah Rivers Knight. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School and attended the University of South Carolina. Elaine was a retired vocational secretary with Chesterfield County School District. Mrs. Motley was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Club, Ladies Circle, Secretary of the Administrative Board, and Sunshine Lady of the Fred Harris Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, Elaine was also preceded in death by her husband, John Knowlton Motley; a daughter, Lyn Harwood, and by her brother, Fred Mullino.

Survivors:
2 Daughters: Ricki Thurman of Lexington, SC and Jenny (Dallas) Keefe of Patrick, SC
7 Grandchildren: Rock (Laurie) Goodale, Jessica G. (Chad) Arant, Jake (Jenna) Keefe, Kaleb Keefe, Seth Keefe, Joel Keefe, and Zachary Keefe.
3 Great Grandchilden: Christopher Goodale, Katie Goodale, and Cole Keefe
